Accra, April 21, – The Base Movement (TBM), a new political initiative, was officially unveiled in Accra with a vibrant float from Kwame Nkrumah Circle to its Tesano headquarters, drawing over 5,000 supporters, youth groups, and disaffected members from NDC and NPP.
Founder Dr George Oti Bonsu called for visionary, business-minded leadership to create jobs and empower youth, reducing crime driven by hardship. "Vote for businessmen like Ibrahim Mahama or Kennedy Agyapong who know how to generate employment," he urged. He announced TBM's 2028 flagbearer would prioritise agriculture as a national pillar alongside tourism—symbolised by two tractors leading the float—contrasting Ghana's disdain for farming with global norms where educated professionals thrive in it.
Youth representative Lawrence Amenuvo decried untapped potential due to lack of direction, discipline, and integrity. "Shift from memorisation to creativity, dependency to self-reliance," he said, vowing accountability, anti-corruption measures, and merit-based player selection reminiscent of Appiah-era glory.
