Bono FDA Arraigns Traders for Selling Sudan Dye-Laced Palm Oil

Sunyani, Bono, April 24, – The Bono Regional Office of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has arraigned three traders in Bono East court for selling palm oil contaminated with banned Sudan Dye, arrested during a 2024 Techiman Central Market surveillance.

Regulatory Officer Mr Charles Gyamfi announced the prosecution, warning that FDA surveillance across Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo regions targets harmful adulterants. "Sudan Dye is a dangerous, prohibited substance," he stressed to the Ghana News Agency.

Enforcement Measures
Traders face strict action for using chemicals in food products, with ongoing market inspections and public sensitization driving out substandard goods and cosmetics. All offenders will be prosecuted to safeguard public health.
