Sunyani (Bono), April 21, – The Paramount Queen Mother of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Akosua Dua Asor Sika Brayie II, has lifted the suspension imposed on Oboaman Bofotia Boa-Amponsem II, the Krontrihene of the area, allowing him to resume his traditional duties with immediate effect.
A statement issued by the office of Nana Brayie II in Sunyani indicated that the decision restores the sub-chief’s authority to perform his customary functions within the Traditional Council.
It stated that the earlier suspension, contained in a letter dated March 27, 2024, was intended to help restore order and discipline within the Sunyani Traditional Area.
The Queen Mother’s office noted that with stability now achieved, there was a need to reinstate the Krontrihene, stressing the importance of his role in the functioning of the Traditional Council.
According to the statement, the Krontrihene stool remains a key position within the traditional governance structure and is essential for the smooth operation of the Council.
The Sunyani Traditional Council had previously suspended Oboaman Bofotia Boa-Amponsem II indefinitely in 2024, preventing him from performing his duties and attending council meetings.
