Aduana FC mourns Berekum Chelsea player Dominic Frimpong


Dormaa-Ahenkro (Bono), April 13, —Dormaa-Ahenkro-based Aduana Football Club (FC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Berekum Chelsea striker Dominic Frimpong, following a fatal armed robbery attack on the team’s bus.

Frimpong died after the Berekum Chelsea squad was attacked while returning from Samreboi, where they had honoured a Ghana Premier League fixture against Samartex FC.

In a statement signed by Mr Evans Oppong, Corporate Affairs and External Relations Manager of Aduana FC, the club described the incident as heartbreaking and a significant loss to Ghana football.

“The team is heart-broken to learn of the passing of Dominic Frimpong, a player we loaned to Berekum Chelsea,” the statement said.

It added that the tragedy represented a major loss not only to the two clubs but to the wider football community.

“This is a devastating loss to both clubs and Ghana football as a whole,” the statement noted.

Aduana FC extended its condolences to the bereaved family and teammates of the late player, assuring them of the club’s support during the difficult period.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time,” the statement added.
