Accra, March 12, – The NPP Minority Caucus condemned the government’s security services recruitment as a “Ponzi scheme” that exploited over 500,000 jobless youth.
Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, spoke at a Thursday presser: “Only 5,000 recruited from 506,000 applicants—akin to criminal fraud after costly, exhausting processes.”
“Why lure them if the plan was just 5,000?” he asked, demanding a bipartisan probe and GH¢220 fee refunds (~GH¢113M total).
Interior Minister Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka announced Phase 1 slots Wednesday, citing fiscal limits after screening ~400,000 for aptitude/medical across Police, Prisons, Immigration, and Fire Service (30,000 doc-disqualified).
