Sunyani (Bono), March 11, — The Bono East Regional Police Command has apprehended three men suspected to be involved in the killing of the queen-mother of Abamba, a community near Amantin in the Bono East Region.
The suspects, identified as Muftawu Adamu, 28, Rafiu Haruna, 28, and Michael Owusu Sperni, 29, were picked up during an intelligence-driven police operation.
In a statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Appiah Danquah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono East Regional Police Administration, the police explained that the queen-mother, Nana Serwaa Asamaa Kuma Gyan, was shot at her residence in the Methodist Church area of Atebubu on February 25, 2026.
The statement indicated that the three suspects are currently being held by the police and are assisting investigators with enquiries into the incident.
Police said investigations are ongoing and efforts are being intensified to track down any other persons who may have played a role in the killing.
