Nkwanta (O/R), March 20, – The Oti Regional Minister, Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, has pledged to personally inspect all government projects before approving payment certificates for contractors.
He said the move was aimed at ensuring quality delivery and preventing substandard work across the region.
Speaking during a working visit to the Nkwanta South Municipality, the Minister stressed that he would no longer rely solely on documentation but would verify progress on-site before endorsing any payments.
According to him, effective monitoring and supervision would be central to his administration’s approach to development.
“I will not sit in the office to sign certificates without seeing the actual work done,” he emphasised.
Mr Gyapong explained that the decision was intended to guarantee that projects delivered to communities met required standards and provided value for money.
He cautioned contractors to adhere strictly to quality specifications, warning that poor workmanship would not be tolerated under his leadership.
