Accra, Dec. 17, – The Accra High Court has directed Patricia Aseidua, popularly known as Agradaa, to pay compensation of GHC50,000 to Pastor Emmanuel Appiah Fumum for publishing his nude photographs.
In addition to the compensation, Aseidua, also referred to as Evangelist Mama Pat, was fined GHC12,000 on each of four counts, with the sentences to run concurrently.
These sanctions followed the conclusion of a plea-bargaining arrangement reached between her legal team, the Office of the Attorney-General, and the complainant, Pastor Fumum, also known as Appiah Biblical.
At an earlier hearing, counsel for Aseidua informed the court that the plea negotiations had reached an advanced stage.
Other accused persons in the same case are also seeking to pursue plea-bargaining agreements, while one individual has filed an appeal against a ruling dismissing a submission of no case.
The matter originated from a complaint lodged with the Police that the complainant’s nude photographs had been aired on Thunder TV, owned by Agradaa, and subsequently circulated across social media.
Agradaa, founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, together with a co-accused person, Charles Omane, alias One Gig, applied for plea bargaining and had been scheduled to open their defence.
Another accused person, Enock Owusu Kissi, is challenging the court’s directive requiring him to open his defence.
Currently serving a 15-year custodial sentence in an unrelated case, Agradaa faced charges of unlawful distribution and possession of intimate images without consent.
Her co-accused were charged with abetment regarding the dissemination of the complainant’s intimate images broadcast on Thunder TV in 2021.
