World Vision Ghana Targets 2.8 Million Children in New Five-Year Strategy

Accra, April 1, – World Vision Ghana is set to launch a five-year national strategy aimed at improving the lives of 2.8 million vulnerable children across the country by 2030.

The strategy, covering the period 2026–2030, is themed “HOPE for Every Child – Harnessing Opportunities for the Protection and Empowerment of Every Child.” It will be officially launched on April 15, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The event is expected to bring together stakeholders from government, development partners, faith-based organisations, civil society, the private sector, the media, and community leaders to reflect on child well-being priorities and deepen collaboration.

In a statement, World Vision Ghana said the strategy reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that children—particularly the most vulnerable—grow up loved, healthy, educated, and empowered within safe and resilient communities.

The organisation noted that the plan responds to emerging challenges affecting children, while building on more than four decades of development work in Ghana.

It aligns with Ghana’s national development agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on key areas such as health, education, water, sanitation and hygiene, nutrition, and gender equality.

World Vision Ghana indicated that the strategy would prioritise system-level change, driven by integrated programmes and strong partnerships with government agencies, communities, faith actors, and the private sector.

The organisation emphasised that improving child well-being requires collective action, urging stakeholders to partner, innovate, and invest in sustainable solutions that protect children and strengthen families.

The launch marks a significant milestone for World Vision Ghana, which has operated in the country for over 40 years, and sets the direction for its interventions on child welfare over the next five years.
