Accra, April 5 – President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled initiatives to strengthen the Kwahu Business Forum, including the establishment of a permanent convention, conference, and exhibition centre in collaboration with Metalex and Trasacco.
- Metalex is a leading manufacturer of construction materials, including aluminum roofing sheets, bricks, and building components.
- Trasacco is a top property developer in Ghana.
At the 2026 edition of the Forum at the Kwahu Mpraeso Convention Centre, the President announced incentives under the 24-Hour Economy Initiative to support businesses operating multiple shifts:
- Duty-free importation of machinery
- Fast-track port clearance
President Mahama also commended Mr Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff at the Presidency, for his role in developing the Forum into a key platform for business engagement.
He urged businesses to:
- Pay taxes transparently
- Plan for succession
- Invest in SMEs to foster sustainable growth and employment
The Forum, themed “The Future of Business: The Role of the Financial Sector,” brought together business owners, investors, policymakers, and development partners to explore innovation, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
