Accra, March 29, – Three suspects, including a seven-month pregnant woman, have been arrested over a brazen shooting that left an elderly man and his son injured in Keri, near Nkwanta in the Oti Region.
The suspects—Bomie Dennis, 22; Charity Salisa, 25; and Kakotse Victoria, 22—were tracked down by a military drone after reportedly fleeing into nearby bushes with firearms, including four locally made single-barrel guns.
A joint military-police operation recovered weapons, cartridges, smartphones, ECOWAS ID cards, a talisman, and assorted tools from their hideout. Three other suspected accomplices remain at large.
The victims, 82-year-old Gasalege Kumi Salisa and his 42-year-old son, Amoah Gasalege Amoah, sustained pellet wounds to the head, chest, shoulders, and hands and are receiving treatment at Nkwanta Municipal Hospital.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the attack was carried out by gunmen believed to be Akyodes, who opened fire on the family at their home on March 18, 2026.
The arrested suspects are assisting police investigations while the recovered items have been retained as exhibits.
