Accra, April 16, – The Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea Football Club, which resulted in the death of player Dominic Frimpong.
A press release copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday said the suspects included the alleged gang leader and another accomplice linked to the incident.
It said one of the suspects sustained gunshot injuries during an exchange of fire with a police intelligence team and had been taken to hospital for treatment.
Frimpong lost his life when he and his teammates were returning from a Ghana Premier League match against FC Samartex 1996 on Sunday, April 12, 2026, when they were reportedly attacked by an armed robbery gang.
The deceased was a former player of Aduana FC.
