Ho, March 28, – The Ho Sector Collection of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) exceeded its revenue target for 2025, recording a total collection of GH¢82.47 million.
The figure surpassed the target of GH¢68.67 million, resulting in a positive deviation of GH¢13.8 million, representing a 16.73 per cent increase over the set target for the period.
Mr Theodore Kafui Ahiable, Volta Regional Sector Commander, announced the achievement during an end-of-year get-together and awards ceremony organised to recognise the efforts of officers. He said the performance reflected the hard work, dedication, resilience and professionalism of the staff despite operational challenges.
“End-of-year programmes are about reflection, appreciation and recognition,” Mr Ahiable stated.
He indicated that the Sector had almost met its target for the first quarter of 2026, which he said showed signs of another successful year. He commended officers for their discipline, vigilance and commitment to duty, describing their efforts as the foundation of the Sector’s success.
Mr Ahiable also acknowledged the support of sister security agencies, noting that strong collaboration contributed significantly to the revenue performance. He further praised management, officers, contract staff and stakeholders for their cooperation, which ensured smooth operations.
Mr Aaron Kanor, Commissioner of the Customs Division, in a speech read on his behalf by Mr Eric Boakye, Commandant of the GRA Academy and Training School at Kpetoe, commended the Ho Sector for its contribution to national revenue mobilisation.
He noted that all 18 collection sectors recorded positive variances, with the Ho Sector ranking fourth nationwide on the revenue performance table. He added that management was working to address operational challenges and urged officers to intensify efforts to mobilise more revenue to support national development.
Mr Kanor also advised staff to use internal mechanisms to resolve disputes and avoid actions that could generate negative publicity, encouraging them to support one another in their duties.
Outstanding staff of the Sector were recognised and rewarded for their performance during the period under review.
Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, commended the officers for their integrity and dedication, emphasising that revenue mobilisation remained crucial to national development. He urged citizens to pay their taxes promptly, assuring that government was committed to using tax revenue for development projects across the country.
