GHANA’S EXPORT BOOM VALIDATES RESET AGENDA – DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF

Accra, Aug 18,  – The Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency in charge of Operations, Mr Stan Xoese Dogbe, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to the “Resetting Ghana Agenda,” saying it is delivering tangible results in economic transformation and export growth.

He said the policy direction, anchored on restoring macroeconomic stability, strengthening institutions and expanding infrastructure through the proposed $10 billion “Big Push,” was beginning to yield measurable outcomes.

Mr Dogbe made the remarks at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority’s (GEPA) launch of the 2025 Non-Traditional Exports (NTE) Statistics in Accra, describing the event as a showcase of Ghanaian enterprise and resilience.

According to the 2025 report, Ghana’s Non-Traditional Exports rose to $5.01 billion, up from $3.83 billion in 2024, representing a 30.7 per cent increase.

Mr Dogbe said the performance reflected the early impact of the Accelerated Export Development Programme, which seeks to shift the economy from reliance on raw commodity exports to value-added production.

He noted that growth in processed goods, horticulture, and industrial crafts showed that Ghana was gradually expanding its export base under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Mr Dogbe said the results confirmed that targeted support for local industries, reduced business bottlenecks, and improved standards compliance were helping Ghanaian products compete globally.

He added that the rise in export earnings was also contributing to foreign exchange inflows, stabilising the cedi, and creating jobs along the manufacturing and processing value chains.

He commended exporters for what he described as their resilience in the face of global supply chain disruptions and domestic economic pressures.

Officials of GEPA and the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry were also praised for coordinating efforts that supported export growth.

Mr Dogbe said the government remained committed to deepening reforms aimed at expanding the country’s export capacity and ensuring long-term economic stability.
