Sunyani (Bono), April 10, – The Cyber Security Unit of the Bono Regional Police Command has invited the Sunyani East Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Abubakar Yakubu, for questioning as part of ongoing investigations.
Mr Yakubu, popularly known in political circles as “Baba Amando,” confirmed the invitation in an interview.
He said he was expected to report to the Regional Police Command at 1000 hours on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Describing the development, he noted that he had been asked to assist investigators in their work.
Mr Yakubu, however, maintained that his engagement in political communication remained a civic duty, stressing his commitment to national discourse.
He said he viewed public service and party communication as a responsibility he performs with honour, adding that he would cooperate fully with law enforcement.
Reaffirming his stance on free expression, he said citizens must be allowed to express their views without fear of intimidation or political pressure.
According to him, freedom of speech is constitutionally protected and must be safeguarded at all times within the bounds of the law.
He further argued that national development depended on open engagement and robust debate, insisting that he would continue to speak on issues of public interest.
“The truth will always prevail, and Ghana must remain a place where people can express themselves freely,” he said.
