Accra, March 25, – An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail of GH¢100,000 to an engineer accused of stealing two vehicles from a car rental firm.
Desmond Peprah was admitted to bail with three sureties, one of whom must be a public servant earning not less than GH¢3,000 monthly.
The court further ordered him to report to the Police three times a week and barred him from leaving the jurisdiction without permission.
Prosecution said Peprah rented a Toyota Highlander and later a Mitsubishi Outlander from Ebenzam Car Rentals in Teshie but failed to return the vehicles as agreed.
He was arrested at Mankesim on March 10, 2026, with one of the vehicles after the complainant tracked him down.
Peprah allegedly told Police he had handed the second vehicle to his brother, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
The case has been adjourned to April 29, 2026, for a Case Management Conference.
