Sunyani (Bono), April 3, – The Management of BA United Football Club has officially handed over the club to the Sunyani Traditional Stool, reaffirming its historical and cultural roots.
The club, which recently emerged champions of the 2026 Brong-Ahafo Regional Football Association (BARFA) Division Two League, made the gesture during a courtesy call on Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
Mr Joe Boahen, Chairman of the Club, explained that BA United’s origins were deeply linked to the Traditional Stool, making the handover both symbolic and necessary. He presented the Division Two League trophy to the Paramount Chief and appealed for continued prayers and support to strengthen the club’s future prospects.
A former Chairman of the club, Mr Ransford Antwi, advised players to remain committed and loyal, noting that their dedication would help secure long-term success. He also commended the management and urged them to remain selfless in their service to the club.
In response, Odeefour Korkor II praised both management and players, calling on supporters to unite behind the club to help restore its former glory. He stressed the importance of strong leadership in addressing challenges confronting the team.
The Paramount Chief highlighted football’s role as a driver of entertainment, economic growth, and community unity, adding:
“The presence of BA United in the nation’s Premier League will not only unite the Sunyani people but also boost local economic growth and development.”
He pledged the Traditional Stool’s commitment to supporting the club’s revival and encouraged players to remain passionate, disciplined, and dedicated in order to leave a lasting legacy.
