Wenchi, Bono, March 24, – The Acting Wenchi Municipal Director of Health, Mr. George Agyemang, has raised concern over the rising incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in the municipality.
He revealed that 102 TB cases were recorded in 2025, with 80 percent successfully treated and a mortality rate of 6.7 percent.
Speaking during the 2026 World TB Day observance, Mr. Agyemang urged the public to seek early diagnosis and treatment, emphasizing that timely intervention improves recovery outcomes.
The 2026 global TB Day, marked on March 24, carries the theme: “Yes! We can end TB!”, focusing on turning commitments into action to eliminate the disease.
He also called on NGOs, philanthropic organizations, and civil society to intensify public education and increase investments to curb the spread of TB in Ghana.
