Tema, March 16, — A helicopter crashed at the Oninku Drive School Park in Tema Community One on Monday afternoon, causing a fire that burned its occupants.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) suspect that about three people were on board.
As of 1600 hours, the GNFS and Ghana Police Service had retrieved two charred bodies from the wreckage.
The incident drew a large crowd of residents eager to see the wreckage. Ahmed Abdullia, Assembly Member for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area, confirmed that no students at the school were injured.
Authorities are continuing the search for additional bodies that may still be trapped in the wreckage.
