Ghana Successfully Evacuates Nationals from Israel

Accra, March 19, — The Government of Ghana has safely evacuated Ghanaian citizens from Israel, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, confirmed.

The operation, coordinated through Ghana’s Embassy of Ghana in Tel Aviv with support from regional partners, also involved the temporary withdrawal of some diplomatic staff. A small team remains to provide essential consular services for those still in the region.

Minister Ablakwa stated via social media that all Ghanaians who requested government assistance had been safely brought home. He highlighted that retaining a limited diplomatic presence ensures continued support for citizens who might need help.

He expressed gratitude to the Israeli and Egyptian authorities for their cooperation, noting that the evacuation required extensive cross-border coordination to secure safe passage.

The evacuees have arrived in Accra, where officials welcomed them, reflecting the government’s ongoing commitment to the welfare and safety of Ghanaians abroad. Minister Ablakwa reaffirmed that the government will continue to monitor developments and assist any citizens requiring support.
