Court grants bail to Counsellor Lutterodt over alleged offensive conduct

Accra, March 12, – An Adenta Circuit Court has granted GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties to Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, over alleged offensive conduct linked to remarks about musician Daddy Lumba.

The 50-year-old biomedical engineer has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace and has pleaded not guilty.

The prosecution stated that Lutterodt, a resident of Adenta SSNIT Flats, allegedly made the remarks in a viral video circulated on social media, including Facebook and a platform called KwasiTV, on Monday, March 9, 2026.

In the video, Lutterodt allegedly commented on the burial place of Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba), urging action by some Ga youth in Accra. He allegedly said:

"If it is true that Lumba as it is alleged has been buried in the house, I want to ask the Ga Boys in Accra, that we shouldn’t wait for the police, let's move to the residence of Lumba and I am calling action now for the desecration of the land walk to the house with pickaxe. We are not fighting any human being, enter the residence of Lumba and let find where the body has been buried."

Following the circulation of the video, police arrested Lutterodt. Investigations are ongoing, especially after another viral video emerged showing some Ga youth at Daddy Lumba’s residence at East Legon, Accra.
