Bono Minister Praises Muslim-Christian Unity at Eid Celebration


Sunyani (Bono), March 20, – The Bono Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has commended the strong peaceful relationship between Muslims and Christians in the region, describing it as essential for development.

He urged residents to preserve and deepen the spirit of coexistence, noting that unity among religious groups remained a key pillar for progress.

Mr Akwaboa made the remarks when he joined hundreds of Muslims at the Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers held at the Sunyani Jubilee Park, marking the end of the 2026 Ramadan fast.

He highlighted the importance of Muslim prayers, stating that they contributed to national development by promoting discipline, peace, and unity.

The Bono Regional Chief Imam, Imam Baaba Seidu Haidara, described Eid-Ul-Fitr as a significant event in the Islamic calendar and encouraged Muslims to uphold the core values and teachings of Islam.

He said those who observed Ramadan faithfully would receive spiritual rewards and blessings, urging them to remain steadfast in their faith.

Imam Haidara also called on Muslims to continue praying for peace, prosperity, and national stability, and to intercede for leaders and the country as a whole.

As part of the celebration, the Regional Minister, who led a government delegation, presented bags of rice, sugar, cartons of Milo, non-alcoholic beverages, and GH¢20,000 to support the event.
