Tema, March 17, – The Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has assured the public that a detailed report will be made available after investigations into a recent aircraft incident in Tema are concluded.
The crash occurred at the TMA Daycare Centre, near Oninku Drive Basic School, prompting an immediate multi-agency response.
Mr John Wumborti, Acting Commissioner of the Bureau, speaking at the scene, said investigators had recovered the wreckage and secured all relevant materials required for the probe.
He disclosed that the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly the Air Force, supported the operation by providing logistics, including a truck to transport the debris to a secure hangar for preservation and further examination.
Mr Wumborti noted that the crashed microlight aircraft was not fitted with a black box, explaining that investigators were relying heavily on witness accounts and physical evidence gathered from the scene.
He added that the Bureau would apply established investigative procedures and multiple analytical approaches to determine the cause of the incident.
The Acting Commissioner commended the coordinated efforts of responding agencies, including the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, the Ghana Police Service, the military and the Ghana National Fire Service.
He assured Ghanaians that findings from the investigation would be made public to ensure transparency and enhance aviation safety.
