Adaklu Farmers Assured of Inputs Under Feed Ghana Programme

Adaklu Waya (V/R), March 24, – Farmers in the Adaklu District have been assured of access to fertiliser and other vital agricultural inputs through the Feed Ghana Programme (FGP), Madam Eugenia Nanka-Bruce, District Director of Agriculture, confirmed.

She urged farmers to register under the programme to be included in the national database and benefit from support such as quality inputs, training, and market access.

Madam Nanka-Bruce advised farmers to align their activities with seasonal and weather conditions and to adopt improved seeds and agricultural practices to enhance productivity. She also encouraged regular engagement with Agricultural Extension Officers (AEOs) and proper record-keeping of farm activities to monitor progress.

Although the rains have begun, the Director recommended that planting commence in the second week of April, when conditions are ideal for seed germination and crop establishment. “Proper soil preparation and the use of improved seeds are essential for good yields,” she added.

She noted that her office continues to implement programs supporting farmers, including extension services, training, and monitoring of ongoing agricultural projects to ensure sustainable production.

Acknowledging the shortage of permanent AEOs in some electoral areas, Madam Nanka-Bruce said posted personnel were providing technical support while efforts are underway to ensure all communities receive adequate assistance.

She further assured farmers that the office is engaging potential buyers, cooperatives, and local markets to help them secure reliable markets for their produce.
