OSP Denies Filing Charges Against Dr Sledge

Accra, Feb. 26  – The Office of the Special Prosecutor Ghana (OSP) has refuted reports claiming that a court has cleared Nana Yaw Duodu, also known as Dr Sledge of Godridge Ghana Limited, of corruption allegations.

In a statement released in Accra on Wednesday, the OSP clarified that it has not initiated any criminal proceedings against Dr Sledge, and therefore no court has made any determination regarding his guilt or innocence.

The Office explained that investigations remain ongoing into the activities of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) between 2020 and 2024, which include matters linked to Dr Sledge. According to the statement, the portion of the investigation concerning him involves an estimated amount of about 94 million US dollars.

The OSP further disclosed that in 2025, it froze certain assets belonging to Dr Sledge, including vehicles valued at GH¢18 million. However, in January 2026, the High Court of Ghana declined to uphold the asset freeze.

Despite this, the Office said it has since taken legal action to challenge that decision and has also moved to re-secure the assets. It emphasised that the assets remain frozen under its custody and are being preserved in the public interest, while efforts continue to trace and restrain additional assets suspected to be linked to the investigation.

The OSP stressed that any individual found to have a case to answer at the end of the investigations would be prosecuted before a court of competent jurisdiction.
