Accra, Feb. 25, – Tano North MP Dr. Gideon Boako (NPP) dismissed the government's gold reserve accumulation policy as unoriginal, noting his party's Gold for Reserves programme boosted holdings from 8 to 32 tonnes by 2024.
Contributing to Wednesday's parliamentary debate, Dr. Boako urged clearer implementation guidelines for transparency, despite crediting NPP's prior success.
Bolgatanga Central's Isaac Adongo (NDC) countered sharply: End-2024 reserves covered under two weeks' imports, crashing the cedi. NDC lifted reserves from $8 billion to $13 billion within one year, stabilising currency.
