Ghana Names Kudus as Captain for Sudan Clash

Accra, Oct. 9, - Black Stars coach Otto Addo has confirmed that West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus will lead the team in their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan on Thursday.

The decision comes after regular captain Thomas Partey was ruled out due to injury. Despite Partey's absence, Addo emphasized that leadership is not solely about the captain and that all players should contribute.

"Kudus will lead the team, and like I said before, he would be the second captain. For us, it is about leadership and responsibility and not about having the captaincy, and it is about all the players," Addo stated.

He added that the team has discussed strategies to cope with Partey's absence and is confident in their ability to deliver a positive result.

The match between Ghana and Sudan is scheduled for Thursday, October 10th, 2024, at the Accra Sports stadium.
