Accra, Jan. 31, – Kumasi Asante
Kotoko has registered a former defender of Aduana Stars, Daniel Darkwah for the
Confederations Cup competition.
Darkwah, who recently switched
camp to Kotoko, was registered by the club as late entrant, since the deadline
for player registration was over.
The Ghanaian club would have to
pay some fines as stipulated in the regulations by the Confederation of Africa
Football (CAF) for the competition.
An official of Kotoko told the
GNA Sports that, they were yet to be informed by CAF over the amount involved
for the late registration.
The source said, the nature of
the fine would be determined by the number of days after the expiration of the
registration exercise.
Kotoko is seeking to present a
formidable squad for the competition in a bid to redeem their image in the
continental competitions.
Kotoko would open their
competition with Congolese champions Kotoko will face 9-time Congolese
champions Athletique Renaissance Aiglon (CARA) in the CAF Confederation Cup
competition at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 11, 2018.
