Mframa (Bono East), March 29, – A devastating rainstorm has killed a nine-year-old girl and displaced hundreds of residents at Mframa, a farming community in the Sene West District of the Bono East Region.
The downpour, accompanied by strong winds and lightning, destroyed about 700 households, leaving many residents injured and homeless.
A visit to the community, observed extensive damage, with roofs ripped off buildings and homes flooded.
The mother of the deceased, Ophelia Serwaa, recounted that the rains began around 1600 hours on Saturday, March 28, and continued through the night, forcing residents to flee.
She said her daughter was trapped in the floods during the chaos.
Several affected residents said they were now living in temporary shelters, while others had taken refuge with relatives and friends.
They appealed to the Government for urgent support, including shelter, food, and clothing, to help them rebuild their lives.
