Ho, April 20, – Ghanaian adventure group Wanderlust Ghana is set to embark on a daring intercontinental road trip from Accra to Toronto, Canada, in a show of support for the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Mr Kwabena Peprah, Team Lead, said the expedition would take the team across Africa and Europe to the United Kingdom, where their vehicles would be shipped to New York before completing the final stretch by road to Toronto.
He described the initiative as more than a journey, saying it symbolised national pride and the determination of young Ghanaians to push boundaries.
“This is about showcasing the resilience and adventurous spirit of Ghanaian youth while rallying support for the Black Stars,” he said.
Mr Peprah noted that the trip would test both human endurance and machine performance as the team navigated different terrains and weather conditions across continents.
He announced that Star Oil Company Limited had come on board as the official fuel sponsor, providing all fuel needs for the expedition, while SIC Insurance Company Limited would offer comprehensive insurance cover for the team and vehicles.
In a statement, Mr James Agyenin-Boateng, Managing Director of SIC Insurance, described the initiative as bold and inspiring, reaffirming the company’s commitment to supporting innovative Ghanaian ventures.
Mr Peprah urged the public to follow the journey and support the initiative, as well as patronise the sponsoring companies.
He added that the expedition was expected to draw both local and international attention as preparations intensified for departure in the coming weeks.
The team previously undertook a similar long-distance road trip to Europe, further cementing its reputation for ambitious travel expeditions.
