Oh Joo promises bigger, bolder experience as Turd Talks 2.0 returns

Accra, April 10– Ghanaian stand-up comedian Oh Joo says this year’s edition of his comedy show, Turd Talks, will deliver a more immersive and creatively layered experience when it returns on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.

He describes the upcoming show as an evolution of the original format, blending stand-up comedy with storytelling and performance elements designed to take audiences on a more engaging journey.

“This edition is a clear evolution of the experience. It’s not just about stand-up anymore. It’s a curated blend of comedy, storytelling and performance,” he told the Ghana News Agency. “The audience should expect something that feels less like a lineup and more like a journey.”

According to him, the concept behind Turd Talks is rooted in confronting uncomfortable truths while encouraging free expression and honest reflection on everyday life.

“The name represents the uncomfortable, the unfiltered and the often-ignored aspects of everyday life,” he said. “It reflects reality—sometimes messy, imperfect, but honest.”

Oh Joo further noted that comedy platforms of this nature continue to play an important role in Ghana’s creative arts space by offering opportunities for emerging talent and fostering collaboration within the industry.

He added that such events also contribute to cultural conversation while helping to position comedy as a viable creative and commercial enterprise.

This year’s edition will feature performances from Jeneral Ntatia, Papa Yaw, Dr Sas, Dwomoh, Kwame Obed, and Bernard the Magician, with Clemento Suarez hosting the show.
