LAUGHTER, SATIRE, AND SHARP WIT: OH JOO’S ‘TURD TALKS 2.0’ LIGHTS UP ACCRA

Accra, April 20, – Ghanaian comedian Oh Joo delivered a night of humour and reflection with his refreshed comedy show, Turd Talks 2.0, leaving audiences thoroughly entertained.

Staged at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, the event created an engaging atmosphere where patrons were treated to a blend of comedy, storytelling and social commentary.

From witty takes on themes such as “Understanding Ghanaian Poetry” to humorous critiques of “Behavioural Patterns in Music Videos,” Oh Joo captivated the audience with his unique style and stage presence.

The show featured a lineup of notable performers, including Jeneral Nta Tia, Kwame Obed (Dr Sas), Ebenezer Dwomoh, Papayaw Ataamle, Bernard the Magician, Kojo PJay and Nana Asaase. The night was expertly hosted by Clemento Suarez.

In a post-event message, Oh Joo described Turd Talks as more than just a comedy show, positioning it as an evolving platform within Ghana’s creative arts scene.

“Turd Talks is about pushing stand-up beyond just laughs into something smarter, bolder and more intentional,” he said, adding that it encouraged comedians to explore deeper themes while remaining entertaining.

He noted that the initiative aimed to elevate Ghanaian stand-up comedy by nurturing originality and bold expression.

Oh Joo also expressed appreciation to performers, production teams and sponsors, including Telecel Ghana and Assempah Fie, for their support in making the event a success.

The show reaffirmed the growing appeal of stand-up comedy in Ghana, with Turd Talks 2.0 standing out as a platform blending humour with thoughtful cultural insight.
