Accra, April 15, – Seven police officers of the Tema Regional Command have been promoted by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, in recognition of their role in foiling a mobile money robbery at Community Five.
The officers earned the promotion following a rapid tactical response that resulted in the arrest and neutralisation of two suspected armed robbers during the incident.
Police also retrieved a firearm, ammunition, cash, and other evidential items at the scene.
Those promoted include Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspectors Gershon Dekpey and Prince Asante, Sergeants Lukman Mohammed and Eugene Kuudouru, Corporal Jerome Akator, and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah.
All seven officers have been elevated to their next ranks.
The Inspector-General, together with the Police Management Board, praised the team for what he described as professionalism, bravery, and effective coordination during the operation.
He noted that their conduct reflected the standards expected of modern policing and urged them to view their elevation as motivation to uphold even higher levels of discipline and service delivery.
The IGP further encouraged officers across the service to remain alert and responsive in tackling emerging forms of urban crime, particularly attacks targeting financial service providers.
