Accra, April 6 – Hundreds of revellers flocked to La Pleasure and Polo beaches in Accra on Easter Monday, amid brisk commercial activity, heavy traffic, and heightened security.
- Friends, families, and organised groups arrived from midmorning, filling spaces along the shoreline, with patronage rising steadily into the afternoon.
- Officials of the Ghana Police Service, supported by beach facility staff, managed vehicular and human traffic as attendance peaked.
- Vendors reported high sales of food, beverages, and homemade meals, while recreational activities such as football, music, horse riding, and live performances engaged visitors of all ages.
Safety and Security:
- Mr Kwame Kaledzi, a lifeguard at Labadi Beach, praised the conduct of revellers and reported no incidents, noting that a team was deployed to monitor swimmers and ensure visitor safety.
- Visitors, including Mr Samuel Adjei from Dansoman, Ms Abigail Sarfo, and Mr Kojo Krampah from Lapaz, expressed satisfaction with the orderly environment, improved facilities, and security arrangements.
- Mr Felix Frimpong, a regular at Polo Beach, highlighted adequate parking, tents, and tight security, noting a peaceful experience for his family.
