Ghana–Jamaica Homecoming Festival secures key partnerships ahead of 2026 launch

Accra, April 13, – Preparations for the Ghana–Jamaica Homecoming Festival have gathered momentum following a high-level stakeholder engagement in Accra, positioning the initiative as a major platform for diaspora relations, tourism, and investment.

The December 2026 event is being developed as a multi-sector festival that blends culture with commerce, bringing together players from the travel, hospitality, trade, and creative industries.

Madam Priscilla Nana Yaa Opoku, Chief Executive Officer of Hotels and Deals International Limited, announced that her outfit would serve as the official travel and hospitality partner. She said the company would oversee travel logistics, accommodation arrangements, and curated visitor experiences for international participants.

She explained that the partnership reflected a broader vision of promoting Ghana as a premium destination for diaspora engagement while facilitating seamless participation for global visitors.

A central component of the festival will be a Business and Trade Forum aimed at strengthening economic ties between Africa, the Caribbean, and the wider diaspora. The forum is expected to attract public and private sector leaders across agriculture, fashion, food systems, and the creative arts, with activities focused on investment promotion and structured trade engagements.

Mr Ishmeal Hanson, Chief Executive Officer of 6 Degree Africa and implementation partner, noted that organisers were prioritising high-quality execution and immersive experiences.

According to him, the initiative goes beyond a cultural gathering and is being designed as a comprehensive ecosystem that integrates production, programming, and stakeholder engagement at international standards.

International reggae artiste Gramps Morgan described the festival as a meaningful effort to reconnect Africa with its diaspora through culture and shared heritage.

He indicated that the programme would feature music, fashion, storytelling, and heritage activities, alongside opportunities for economic collaboration.

Organisers say the Ghana–Jamaica Homecoming Festival will combine large-scale cultural showcases with structured trade and investment engagements, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a gateway for diaspora partnerships.

With strong institutional backing and strategic partnerships already in place, the event is expected to deliver both cultural significance and measurable economic impact.
