Accra, March 25, — The Women’s Caucus in Parliament has vowed to publicly expose men who challenge female MPs in the 2028 polls. Madam Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, the Caucus Chairperson and NDC MP for Ada, described the move as necessary to protect the limited number of women currently serving in Parliament.
Speaking on Wednesday, Madam Doyoe Cudjoe cited Ghana’s low ranking of 149th out of 188 countries in women’s political representation as evidence of the urgent need to shield female legislators.
“The few women making an effort to serve must be supported. Any male candidate opposing them will be named and shamed,” she warned.
The Caucus plans to meet the Speaker of Parliament to present a UN report on women’s representation and explore mechanisms to ensure female MPs retain their seats.
