Kwahu Gears Up for 2026 Easter Paragliding Festival, April 3–6

Accra, March 25, – The 2026 Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival is scheduled to take place from April 3 to 6, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced. The event will be held at the Odweanoma Mountains in the Eastern Region under the distinguished patronage of President John Dramani Mahama and with support from the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Madam Ablakwa Dzifa Gomashie.

According to a statement issued in Accra on Tuesday, the festival remains Ghana’s leading adventure tourism event and a highlight of the Easter celebrations in Kwahu. The festival continues to attract thousands of local and international tourists, complementing the region’s social and recreational Easter activities.

The 2026 edition will feature tandem flights, aerial displays, safety demonstrations, tourism exhibitions, and curated visitor experiences designed to showcase Ghana as a top destination for adventure and domestic tourism.

Other events across Kwahu during Easter will include street carnivals, live musical concerts, cultural performances, food fairs, Made-in-Ghana product exhibitions, and youth and recreational activities. Corporate and private sector programmes are also planned as part of the celebrations.

The GTA emphasized that the festival contributes to government efforts to promote domestic tourism, create jobs, and drive growth in the tourism, culture, and creative arts sectors — key pillars of national development.

Officials confirmed that the GTA is working closely with the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council, Kwahu Traditional Authorities, Municipal and District Assemblies, security agencies, and private partners to ensure the festival is safe, coordinated, and successful.

“The public, private sector, development partners, and international visitors are invited to fully engage in the festivities and experience Ghana’s adventure tourism, culture, and vibrant Easter celebrations,” the statement said.
