Ghana Link Denies ICUMS Caused Fuel Supply Disruptions

Accra, March 9, – Ghana Link Network Services Limited, operators of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), has refuted reports suggesting that system outages disrupted fuel supply in the country.

The claims, reportedly made by Star Oil, alleged that ICUMS had been down since March 6, preventing Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) from lifting petroleum products. Ghana Link described these reports as false and misleading, stating that the ICUMS platform remained fully operational during the period.

In a statement, the company clarified that all stakeholders continued processing transactions without interruption. After investigating, Ghana Link determined that the operational issues were linked to the National Petroleum Authority’s Enterprise Relational Database Management System (ERDMS), not ICUMS.

The company expressed disappointment over the unverified allegations, warning that such misinformation could erode public trust in a key national trade facilitation platform. Ghana Link urged Star Oil to retract its statement and issue a public apology.

The firm reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, operational reliability, and strong stakeholder support in maintaining the ICUMS system.
