Accra, March 7, – Saviour Kojo Ekpe, a 45-year-old man accused of terrorising residents in Abokobi, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
During a search of his room, Police recovered four pump-action guns, 101 AA/BB live ammunitions, a jack knife, one Glock AUSTRIA pistol, and 17.9mm live ammunitions. A Police brief indicated that Ekpe allegedly rented out the weapons to other criminals and admitted ownership during interrogation.
Ekpe reportedly offered limited explanations for possessing the weapons, claiming one was for hunting, another for home protection, and a third for personal safety. “This goes to confirm the fact that the suspect has been keeping the weapons and renting them out to people for their criminal activities,” the brief noted.
His accomplice, Emmanuel Abbey, was also arrested for allegedly threatening the life of a complainant. Both suspects have been detained, and the exhibits retained as evidence.
Police intelligence gathered on March 5, 2026, identified Ekpe as a land guard operating in Abokobi and its environs. Subsequent operations led to the arrest of both Ekpe and Abbey.
