President Mahama to deliver State of the Nation Address on February 27

Accra, Feb. 20, – President John Dramani Mahama will address Parliament on Friday, February 27, 2026, delivering the constitutionally mandated State of the Nation Address (SONA) per Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.

Mr Mahama Ayariga, Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, announced the schedule during Friday's parliamentary sitting. Members must be seated by 9:15 a.m. for the President's 10:00 a.m. formal welcome.

The SONA enables the President to outline government policy priorities, review national achievements, and identify key challenges across critical sectors.

Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, will preside over proceedings attended by MPs, government officials, diplomats, and dignitaries.

As Ghana's premier political event, the SONA shapes national discourse and legislative agenda for the coming year.
