Court: Two Arraigned for Osu Cemetery Tombstone Damage


Accra, Feb. 13, – Contractor Eric Tawiah Annang (62) and labourer Joseph Donkor (35) appeared before the Adabraka District Court accused of damaging a GH¢4,500 tombstone at Osu Cemetery.

Donkor faces charges of unlawful damage to Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly property, while both are charged with abetment of crime. They pleaded not guilty and were granted GH¢10,000 bail each with two sureties. Next appearance: March 24, 2026.

Chief Inspector Apeweh Achana said on February 8, 2026, around 0800 hours, the cemetery sexton caught Donkor and an accomplice disinterring a grave after breaking the tombstone during a patrol against illegal digging.

Annang claimed he hired them with a permit. When Task Force arrived, the second accomplice fled. Both suspects admitted the offence during investigation at Osu Police Station.
