Sunyani (Bono), Feb. 20, – The Berekum Divisional Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old suspected drug kingpin, David Frimpong, during an intelligence-led operation at Nyamebekyere, Berekum Municipality.
Police stormed an uncompleted building serving as the suspect's hideout, where Frimpong attempted to flee but was swiftly overpowered.
Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed the haul in a statement:
57 compressed slabs of suspected Indian hemp
195 wraps of dried leaves
Three sacks of additional quantities
Preliminary investigations confirm Frimpong as a key narcotics distributor within Berekum and surrounding communities. All exhibits retained for forensic analysis and evidential purposes.
The suspect remains in custody assisting investigations ahead of court appearance.
