Accra, Dec. 3, – Hearts of Oak suffered a major setback in the Round of 64 of the 2025/2026 MTN FA Cup after being beaten 1-0 by Division Two side True Life Academy at the Pobiman Sports Complex.
The result has sent shockwaves through Ghanaian football circles, as the Phobians—one of the nation’s most successful clubs—were outplayed and eliminated by a lower-tier academy team in one of the biggest upsets of the tournament so far.
Hearts entered the encounter riding high after a morale-lifting victory over Vision FC in the Premier League, but their renewed confidence made little difference against a disciplined and fearless True Life Academy side.
