Police Arrest Ten Suspects in Viral Video Assault on Women

Accra, Nov. 26, - Ten individuals have been arrested in connection with a viral video depicting the physical assault and abuse of two young women at Dawuranpong in the Central Region.

According to a police brief issued on Wednesday, the arrests were made by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

Among those apprehended are three men seen in the video using a sharp razor to cut the scalps of the victims. They have been identified as Eric Donkor, 32, also known as Killer Block; Yaw Gyimah, 29; and Edmond Nartey, 24.

However, a key suspect, Tawiah Awaga, who was visibly recorded cutting one victim's scalp, remains at large.

The seven other suspects arrested are Steven Amu, 24; Farouk Balas, 18; Mensah Bernard, 18; Adu Baggeo, 23; Bismark Nyarko, 30; Akwesi Poku George, 18; and Oteng Alfred, 23. They are alleged to have played various roles in aiding and abetting the crime.

The Police Administration has also stated that it is taking necessary steps to provide support to the victims.
