Accra, Oct. 10,- The Black Stars of Ghana were held to a goalless draw by the Falcons of Sudan in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite dominating the match with numerous chances, Ghana's efforts were thwarted by Sudan's goalkeeper, Mohammed Mustafa, who made several impressive saves.
The result leaves Ghana in third place in the group with two points from three matches, while Sudan moves up to second with four points.
Angola remains at the top with six points.
Ghana's Alexander Djiku had the first clear opportunity to score in the match, but his header from close range struck the crossbar.
The Black Stars continued to create chances throughout the game, but Sudan's defense held firm.
The Falcons of Sudan also had their moments, with Yacoub coming close to scoring in the 35th minute.
However, Ghana's goalkeeper Ati-Zigi made a crucial save to keep the score level.
In the second half, Ghana continued to press for a goal, but Sudan's goalkeeper once again denied them.
Kudus and Djiku both had chances to score, but Mustafa was equal to their efforts.
As the match entered the final minutes, Ghana pushed for a late winner, but Sudan's defense held on to secure the draw.
The result is a setback for Ghana's hopes of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON.
