Accra, Nov. 8, - Accra Hearts of
Oak Sporting Club Limited, has announced Kim Grant as their new Director of
Football and first team coach.
The former Elmina Sharks coach is
expected to take charge of all technical aspects of the Phobia Club, including
the youth and senior side and his duties would officially commence on December
1, 2018.
Mr. Mark Noonan, Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) of Hearts, in a club statement, revealed that, Grant stood out
from other candidates considering his rich experience on and off the field.
"Kim is the right man at the
right time to lead our program forward. First and foremost, he has all the
personal qualities we were looking for a leader, integrity, work ethic,
communications skills, attention to detail, and incredibly high standard of
professionalism.
"His rich experiences in the
game as a player and managing, his understanding of the local league, high
level European training, comfort with modern coaching/scouting technologies,
and a commitment to playing entertaining, attacking football, make him an ideal
fit," Mr. Noonan said in the statement.
Mr. Noonan thanked Board Chairman
Togbe Afede XIV, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe for their support and rallied support for
the new coach.
"I am humbled at the
opportunity to lead this great football club at this critical moment in time.
My sincere thanks go out to the club's esteemed leaders for having the faith
and confidence to return the club to its position at the pinnacle of African
football," Mr. Noonan said.
The statement said Seth Hoffman
who took interim charge of the team would be re-assigned within the
organisation.
Hearts will lock horns against
Inter Allies in a friendly match at the Tema Sports Stadium as it celebrates
its 107 birthday.
