Accra, Jan. 9, – Accra Hearts of
Oak will on Wednesday play Medeama SC in the second game of the 2018 Ghana
League Clubs Association (GHALCA) G-8 tournament at the Cape Coast Sports
Stadium.
The two teams would be battling
for top spot in Group B as both teams managed hard fought wins in their tricky
first games respectively.
Hearts defeated Karela, a newly
promoted side into the 2018 Ghana Premier League season, 1-0 last Saturday,
whilst Medeama overcame Ebusua Dwarfs 6-5 in a free-scoring game last Sunday.
The two teams have three points
after match-day one and the winner of the tie would head Group B before the final
round of matches.
The two sides have met 20 times
in the league since then Kessben FC (now Medeama SC) gained promotion to the
topflight in the 2007/08 season.
Hearts have won five times whilst
Medeama have triumphed nine times, with six games ending in a draw.
GPL and a rehearsal for Ghana’s
Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions representatives has been
divided into Groups A and B.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Aduana
Stars, Eleven Wonders and Dreams FC are in Group A, in Kumasi and Accra Hearts
of Oak, Karela FC, Medeama SC and Ebusua Dwarfs making up Group B in Cape
Coast.
The game will kick off at 3pm at
the Cape Coast Stadium.
