Accra, Jan.12, - Black Princesses
head coach Yusif Basigi, has said his team is poised for a crucial final round
of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) U-20 Women’s
World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
The Black Princesses advanced to
the final stage of the qualifier after completing a 10-1 aggregate win over
Kenya to book the final encounter with Cameroon.
Coach Basigi in an interview with
GNA Sports, before the team departed for Cameroon this morning noted of his
team’s preparedness ahead of the encounter on Sunday 14th January, 2018.
“My team is very prepared and we
have done all the necessary training rudiments that would put the girls in
shape for the game and we are very poised for that crucial encounter come
Sunday,” he added.
According to Coach Basigi, they
are dwelling on the fact that Cameroon has always been a tough opponent for
Ghana to condition themselves for the crucial encounter.
“We are using their toughness as
a determining factor to work extra hard in other to change the trend of them
posing difficult opponent for us this time around, “ he added.
The former Sekondi Hasaacas coach
said they would study the game plan of the Cameroonians and also make sure his
team utilizes their chances as at when they come to get a good game in Cameroon
and possibly come with a win.
The Black Princesses would have
to win a two leg game against Cameroon to qualify for the upcoming FIFA U-20
Women’s World Cup slated for France.
