Accra, Jan. 24, – Kumasi Asante
Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have been given a tough draws in the re-introduced
Startimes Ghana Football Association (GFA) Gala competition.
Defending champions Asante Kotoko
were drawn with host Elmina Sharks, whilst Hearts of Oak have been drawn in a
derby match against Accra Great Olympics.
The Gala competition is making a
return on the football calendar for the first time in thirteen years since
Asante Kotoko last won it.
Sixteen clubs from the Premier League
and Division One clubs would participate in the two day soccer fiesta.
Organisers say the clubs were selected strictly by invitation.
The StarTimes GFA gala is set to
be played on Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday February 4, at the Nduom Stadium
in Elmina.
Each of the participating club
would receive an appearance fee of US$2,500.00 with the semi finalists would
receive USD 500 additional fund.
The runner up would receive US$1,000.00
whilst the winner earns US$2,000.00
According to the competition
rules, 20 minutes would be allocated for each half, whilst the final match last
for 30 minutes for each half.
