Tarkwa (W/R), December 5, -A 20
year-old unemployed, Issah Amadu, has been remanded into prison custody for
allegedly defiling a Junior High School girl aged 14.
He pleaded guilty with
explanation to the charge of defilement and would re-appear before the court on
Thursday December 14.
Prosecuting, Police Chief
Inspector Faustina Celestina Anaman told the court presided over by Mr.
Emmanuel Bart-Plange Brew that the complainant is a farmer and father of the
victim and together with the accused lives at Akyempim, a suburb of Tarkwa.
She said few months ago the
complainant detected that the victim was not sleeping in the house.
Inspector Anaman said the
complainant then decided to monitor the victim closely and found out that she
was in a relationship with the accused person.
The Prosecutor said the
complainant informed a witness in the case and warned the accused to stay away
from his daughter.
She said on November 13 the
victim failed to return home and the complainant became suspicious that she was
with Amadu.
She told the court that the
complainant reported the matter to the police and they proceeded to the accused
person's house to ascertain the facts of the story.
Inspector Anaman said when the
police arrived in the house they found Amadu in his room with the victim hiding
in his wardrobe.
She said Amadu was arrested for
interrogation whiles the victim was issued with a medical form to seek
medication attention which she is yet to return to the police.
